\n\u2022 In general, the water-based primer leaves more working time before curing.
\n\u2022 The water-based primer has a bit less gloss than the solvent-based – more coats will bring back the glossiness.
\n\u2022 1-2 coats more of the water-based primer is necessary compared to the solvent-based.
\n\u2022 A small amount of ethanol makes the water-based primer flammable in marking and general handling. All other safety requirements are very similar to other water-based products.<\/p>\n

After a short processing time, the primer forms an extremely strong and protective film on surfaces. Often the primer changes the surface tension and increases the gloss level.<\/p>\n
The product has no release power and an appropriate sealer or release agent should be applied on top of the product after it has cured.<\/p>\n
Primers reduce surface roughness and produce a uniform surface profile and chemical barrier on production quality plugs, masters, prototypes and composite molds and tooling. Mold primers also provide gloss, vacuum integrity and a preferred adhesive surface for semi-permanent sealers and release agents.<\/p>\n
